The Corvette is very profitable. The best selling vehicle of 2009 on the news earlier was the Silverado/Sierra pickup. Pretty much any auto company is going to have problems right now. What we are seeing with GM and Ford is a reinvention of their companies and potentially a comeback. When all of this economic stuff is behind us, they will be in every bit as good shape as Toyota and maybe better. So, while I agree with you that Corvette can't keep GM afloat, I think it is irrelevant.

CorvetteRacingFanGeneral Motors has failed.the bailout is what's allowing it to run on some inertia.the niche super car market will not keep it afloat.

However, the Veyron does handle pretty impressively considering it's hulk weight. It shouldn't be expected to be up to par on a track with more of a raw track car like the Aero and it still does decently. It is also much more comfortable to ride in and more refined. It has its good points but I just can't stand when people try to make it out as something that it is not. It doesn't have to be the best at everything as long as it is at some things.

@sw1000xg Aero slalom speed: 73.1 mphVeyron slalom speed: 68 mphAero skidpad: 1.03gVeyron skidpad: 1.00gNo it really doesn't handle better but keep saying that. It is blaitantly obvious just by the fact that it weighs so much compared to the Aero. It barely manages to beat a mustang GT in the curvies, which is pretty bad. This fact is made even more obvious by the Top Gear test where it raped a Zonda F Clubsport in a drag race and then lost to it on the track anyway.

@CorvetteRacingFan Sorry to say the AERO handles better than the Veyron thats a joke. The Veyron is 638kg more than the Aero and the Veyron is faster to everything just the AERO gets an extra 4pmh for something 638kg lighter!

Also, the ZR1 can be beaten by some cars on a track and a straight but the list is a list of cars that are much more expensive than it. The only ones that come close to the price are this SpecV and the Ultima Sports GTR 720. Honorable mention to the base GT-R for being almost as good and costing less. Anyway, look into the Aero if you want a competitive American car. Faster than the Veyron and handles better too.

@Veyron1333 The Veyron is an overengineered heap. An SSC Aero is more than a match for it on a track and almost as quick accelerating. The English Ultima GTR is an even more uneven match. I bet the McLaren F1 could beat it on a track.

The American car companies have never made a car that can compete with a veyron. And the ZR1 is a very beasty car true but its overrated i can name ten cars that will beat it in a straight line and more than likely on a track

PLEASE SELL OUTSIDE OF JAPAN!!!People keep talking shit about how the Japanese can't make a world class supercar (not true at all just for the record). The problem is that when they do, they don't sell the fucking thing to the whole world and nobody outside of Japan gets to see how much of a beast it is.

> CorvetteRacingFan said on 12-21-2009 at 17:08:
@rydernad Thats true but if you take that approach you are comparing a $45,000 C6 to a $80,000 GT-R. You would have to compare the GT-R to the $72,000 Z06 but then you have a $105,000 ZR1 against a $160,000 SpecV which is pretty unfair. I prefer just saying they both kick ass and leaving it at that.

> CorvetteRacingFan said on 12-21-2009 at 17:05:
@Veyron1333 The problem is not that the ZR1 is one of the most overrated cars of all time like you think. Its more that the Veyron is. The thing is good in a straight line and horrible on a track. Funny, I used to hear that about American cars but when a Euro company makes one like that it gets nothing but praise...

The ZR1 destroys the veyron at nurburgring!

> Veyron1333 said on 12-21-2009 at 15:57:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA The ZR1 is possibly one of the most overrated cars of all time. If this car beats a bugatti on the nur then this will destroy a ZR1

> Veyron1333 said on 12-21-2009 at 06:44:
This would rape the ZR1 on the nur

@rydernad What you have to realize is that this Spec V is $160k
