not much GT-R left when you remove engine and front drivetrain.

@350gtrs - it's not for the class - look at the V12 engine DB9RS and MC12 GT1 cars.

its not cause of reliability is cause of the Class they needed the tuned V8 verison

Nissan opted for the V8 for improved reliability (rather than the new twin-turbo V6 engine) and because the torque output is better than the V6.

Infernimus - Car #150 was a Corvette Z06 GT3 - FIA GT website. Perhaps it just did the first race of the season and none further.

yo!! hold on Humps1!!! are you sure that the VETTE that got passed was from GT3 class?? well it seems from the video that it was the GT1 vette, ´cause FIA GT series there are no vettes on GT2 and there´s not even GT3 class on fia gt, well anyway a good battle between MC12s the DB9Rs S7Rs Vettes and GTR 35 is on!!!! GT1 rules!! unlike p1 and p2 classes they suck cause they are prototypes. GT3, GT300 GT500, GT2 and GT1 are coming and developed from production cars.

The GT-R is in the GT1 class. Google FIA GT1 and you can see what else is in this class.

In each class they are closely matched but there is a big difference between classes (90 bhp between GT1 and GT3). The GT1 GT-Rs are RWD to comply with FIA GT regulations. The Vette that got passed was GT3.

GT1, GT2,GT500 etc.... in each class the cars are closely matched in power output... so it's really about which car is faster around the track and that comes down to (manely) the driver and the chassis... the AWD chassis of the GTR's are going to be hard to beat... As you can see from this vid the RWD Vette is going to have a hard time.
