Jamaal Charles is so much bigger than the rest of the sprinters, and yet keeps up with them. Crazy.

One of the most unpredictable things is the progress of the sprinter - just read the Donovan Bailey story

Yea except there was no wind rating in that race and it was likely wind aided (Dyestat and the IAAF didn't recognize it as an official time). If you look at the rest of Chris Johnson's 100m times while he was at Olmypia High School, excluding that 10.38 which had no wind information, he was usually around 10.5-10.6. Granted Chris Johnson is a very fast by football standards, assuming he had a normal sprinting progression he'd be at best a low 10.3 sprinter in college.

it also depends on the athelete, some reach top speed quicker

technically, u should reach ur top end speed at about 40m into a short sprint, 60 and 100. but i knwo what u mean, the start is WAY more important in a 60

This indoor track Sucks!!!...How da hell they expect an athlete to reach his/her full potential speed when they know there is a big wall at the end of the finish line that they are gonna slam into? This Sh*t is flawed, I want my 4 mins 9 secs back...lol

Two things - not everyone who is fast runs track.Chris Johnson ran a 10.38 in high school - he probably just concentrated on football. I know alot of athletes like that.ARGUMENT DENIED!The 40 meter tests mostly your start and explosiveness - it's mostly quickness. The 100 meter race is a race of foot turnover, stride, and consistency.

Jamaal Charles has the fastest top end speed of the draft, 40 yard dash times are bogus anyways, we all know the real sprinters are the naturally fast athletes like Charles that can run LEGIT sub world class 100 meter times. Oh yeah where was Chris Johnson, Justin King and the rest of the "Fast" 40 yards dudes?
