Jet Li was 5 times national champion of wushu (the sport) and he competed in forms (taolu). Wong Fei Hung was a master of Hung Gar (a traditional martial art). Tit sin kuen is the name of the most advanced form of hung gar and not a separate system as one might think. So all You guys are right in some way.

However, the communist government assigned several masters to create a national sport called "wushu". This wushu sport is more like acrobatics so it couldn't be used for fighting competition. So they've created sanshou (something like kumite in karate) to be able to compete in fighting. Sanshou is more like thai-boxing than kungfu.

Yes, all of You are right. But to avoid any confusion: "wushu" literally means "martial art" and in the old days it was refered to any kind of martial art (and sometimes it still does).
