Well, the real deal with bio-diesel is that it actually does need to be kept at a certain temperature for it to work properly in the car - that means that the fuel usually needs to be heated a bit before it works. However, I see nothing wrong with mixing it 50/50 with petroleum-based diesel fuel. On Bouginville, the locals have been running their trucks on home-made coconut oil for decades.

I dont think this will work properly on modern common rail diesel it will get clogged in the injector unless you filter it VERY well (its very delicate mechanics), i also dont know how that cooking oil will act in high pressure systems, since the common rail operates above 15000psi

so, why dont they tell us this stuff and continue to make us buy gas..... or is there something i am missing?

they are very wrong about putting it in straight into the fuel tank! that will mess up the injectors and the cylinder walls. the glycerin needs to be removed first!!

Veg oil will not have gelling probs in summer time. Until the weather drops the temp to around 5 or 6 centigrade or lower. Then you will definitely need some extras like additives or diesel mix and line/filter/tank heaters or a twin tank system + heaters.

if you put raw unheated veg oil in the takn of your diesel car you would be sooo fucked! As oil cools is gets geled up, it would gum up your fuel lines, filter, in tank screen, lift pump, i-pump, piston rings, injector lines etc. you MUST use heated oil and caan't just run it through a sock filter. Also unheated oil has water in it from frozen foods. I know, I run my Mercedes on WVO the PROPER way.

I could have told you that cooking oil is essentially cheaper. At my job we use half diesel and half oil. Plus, the exhaust smells like french fries.

I think they were trying to see if it gets BETTER fuel MPG on cooking oil than diesel. It got 10% lower MPG, so it's busted, but it's still more economical money wise becouse the stuff's free (or very cheap.) They wern't talking about money, they were talking straight MPG. That's the problem with these youtube vids-they don't show the whole episode, so you don't hear the orrigional myth.

Filter to 5 Microns, Send through a fuel heater set-up and drive for free.NOT BUSTED - If a tank cost's £50 and a tank of Veggie £25, it is TWICE as economical!I know because I do it! LOL

@jakesteel1 What they were busting is if there was something out there that could BOOST care efficiency, clearly there wasn't. AND as THEY said if there was something that would greatly increase efficiency, it would already be sold. The diesel car can use the oil, yes, but that was NOT what they were "busting".

People have been doing this for years! Of course the oil companies aren't going to sell it, why would they have waited so long to do it if they were? 10% less may have been closely related to their driving as well. And it's no as if 30mpg is bad, most gasoline cars don't even get that. Definitely not busted, if you own a diesel car, this is for you to try.lol, their car looked like my Mercedes, but bigger. I wonder if that's an 80's S-class... Can anyone tell me what car that was?

Busted???Hows it busted if it works...Well, if they make the argument about fuel and engine efficiency, then they can say used cooking oil is not as efficient as diesel fuel.Who cares??? The fact is, used cooking oil can be used to power diesel engines (and to address their argument), almost as efficiently as diesel. And if you add the converter system that runs diesel through at engine start and shut down, youll have no problems.ABSOLUTELY NOT BUSTED.
