The ending theme song was sung by a Japanese group called Godiego. The song is titled Gandhara and I believe is available on iTunes. They have both a Japanese and English language version, although the Japanese version is difficult to find. More information can be found on them on Wikiepdia.

Natsume Masako the model later became a household name actress and sadly her life drew to an unfortunate early end due to leukemia. Nishida Toshiyuki (the Pig) is still a very popular and revered actor in Japan - most famously known for his 'Tsuri-baka nishi' series of films. The monkey, Sakai Masaaki is a variety show TV presenter and is frequently seen on TV. .....all for those who may be interested.

I remember at school (years ago) there was a debate over this and the water margin; which was better. Most went for the water margin, but I went for Monkey, it was so cool and funny, as well as crazy.
