But people have been driving forever on that road before metro came along and stole it. At least they could have made the grade a different color. Check out a Dart Rail line and notice how they do the job right.

I think that the car drivers should still have checked before they turned right into the path of the LRV. Thankfully there was no substantial damage.

Another reason being that DART's lines are about 80% out of the street, and/or on their own ROW. Houston's only line is in the middle of street its entire length.

Most drivers don't check their mirror nor check blind-spots.However, a few have correctly pointed out that adding a rail line on the same grade where people are used to driving is just as stupid. The one train ran a red light when he hit that one car. and i do have to admin that those trains should not be on the left. How often do you check your left side mirror before making a left hand turn? If they were on the right side and followed the traffic lights like and trolley around here there would not be any issues like this.

The grade under the track should be a different color from the color of the street. Gee. Were the engineers for Metro spending their time in strip joints? Why didn't they just drive up to Dallas to spend 5minutes on how to do the job right? DART has been sucking latedly too but it is still 50 years ahead of Houston's joke of a system.

Light Rail trains should not travel in the same direction as city traffic. lol!! These people would still get hit if the train were brightly coloured.

Notice how the grade of track is the same color as the grade of street? Those bastards went in and put a train down where people have been driving forever and didn't bother to highlight the grade along the traintrack a different color. They then turn around and blame the people.

I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for the drivers. You must have a special case of stupidity to not know that there is a train traveling in a direction and the train tracks are right beside it. Learn to fuckin drive.

I feel bad for the tram drivers who are absolutely helpless in these situations. And I thought Miami drivers were dumb...
