you guys that say a true met fan would never root for the yankees are somewhat true..ive been a met fan from brooklyn my whole life.we are from birth told by yankee fans that we are beneath them as mets..so yes,i would never root for the yankees, but,we hate the phillies and braves even more, they could cut my arm off,but i'll never root for them.look at the brooklyn dodgers...they hated the yankees, but any true dodger fan hated the n.y. giants more than anything...

Cliff Lee, and Brandon Webb. That's a fucking fantastic four. Sign 2 of the 4, and they are set for a while at S.P.

The Smartest thing Omar can do at S.P. is to sign only Bedard and wait until next year's F.A.:Josh BeckettRoy Halladay

Here's what I think they should do:S.P.) If you can't get Bedard and Lackey, then get either one, John Garland, and Rich Harden. I'd pick Bedard.1B.) Adam LaRoche (Prefer) or Aubrey Huff-- have Huff platoon with Murphy at 1B/O.F. O.F.) Bay or Holliday (prefer), and bring back Endy Chaves or Xaiver Nady, hopefully both.

Exactly. Like so many "Met fans" he's really just a Yankee hater. Sad.

Thanks for correcting me. You are right. I just googled it and got the baseball Almanac page. I was also wrong about Mays' triple. Willie walked to lead off the 9th, stole second and scored the tying run on Orlando Cepeda's hit to right. After 2 quick outs Dick Radatz walked a batter and Johnny Callison hit a three run homerun. 7-4 Nationals

good, you can go sit with your Yankee friends and root for them on the big screen. Any REAL met fan no matter how long he has lived in NY Can't be a met fan if the root for the Yankees EVER! Buy the way, it takes a fucking idiot to post comments like yours. You can disagree with me all you want, but that does not give you the right to curse out anyone!

You are a fucking idiot, I'm from Queens NY and have season tickets to Citi Field. I've lived here for 30 years and have been a Mets fan every minute of them. I am a New Yorker and no way in hell would I ever root for the Phillies over the Yankees. You are no Mets fan Zif you root for the Phills. Go to hell

You Philly people know nothing about Met fans: our dislike for the Yankees goes before anything. if the phils play the Yankees in the ws 10 times, we will always root for the phils

I was at the 1962 All Star game at brand new Shea. Willie Mays (SF Giants) led off the 9th with a triple and scored the tying run. Johnny Callison (Phillies) hit a 10th inning home run to win it for the Nationals. I think the final score was 6-5. I got there early and Willie Mays (my hero) was standing only 10 feet away surrounded by adoring 11 and 12 year old boys and signing autographs for them. I was 21 at the time and felt that I would be butting in and so I didn't approach Willie.
