They also use maggots on patients that have gangrene. The maggots happily munch up the dead/decaying flesh.

And also, these maggots not only eat the dead cells, they won't touch the healthy tissue, so I'm pretty sure it won't hurt.

maggots are used mostly for severe burn victims which need the dead tissue to be removed.

This has been going on for hundreds and hundreds of years, documented. Very safe. Very effective. Don't try it at home, as these are "medical maggots" destined for one purpose. Very cool.

Thank you. It is kind of you to say so. I think though, that it is all the comments that make it very informative because the video clip itself is silent except for the added music - so thanks to you, everybody who has posted an informative comment or asked a good question.I'm not sure about whether you can feel the maggots - I remember the patient did tell me that he was so glad not to have the pain of so much debriding of the wounds.

Sounds sketchy to me that he died soon after.. you sure that's a good idea to put parasitic organisms into a person's body?

Not painful at all. The maggots eat the dead cells and thus help in growing new cells and skin. Even leeches are used because they induce blood flow in areas with low blood circulation and help in healing wounds.

Yes, that was the point of putting the video clip online so that people would think about it and remember that nature can help. Currently over 300,000 people have watched it.

not quite a scientific breakthrough, this process has been around before medical and scientific research was anywhere near the point it is now. This technique was used by ancient medicen men for the same purpose used in this video.....

no cuz maggots only eat dead cells or watever and leaches eat blood so if u puta leach there it wouldnt work it would just drink the blood while the maggots eat the dead stuff so the doctors can treat it
