First of all, I think its appaling that there are spam comments on a video regarding children suffering from a form of vaccine poisoning (which is what I really think "autism", for the majority of cases, is). Secondly, as I said, I disagree that autism is caused by genetics or by a mental illness. The evidence that the parents give is undisputable and to add to that, there may be enviromental and even physical abuse as possible triggers for this condition.

StarbucksCoffeeFreak - I AGREE 100%!!!!!I am in the process of repairing the damage caused to my daughter by SOMETHING. She was NOT born Autistic. We are using the gluten free diet and looking into anti-fungal.NO MEDICATIONS. She has never had an antibiotic. I regret the vaccines. I am glad there are other who feel the same way.

"The author concludes that recent studies have found no association between MMR vaccination & autism. The frequent embryologic neuroanatomic abnormalities found in children w/ autism lessen the likelihood that MMR immunization is a major risk factor. The Immunization Safety Review Committee of the Institute of Medicine and a special American Academy of Pediatrics panel have concluded that evidence does not support MMR immunization as a risk factor for autism"American Academy of Family Physicians

"From time to time, rumors circulate that thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative once used in several vaccines (and still used in some flu vaccine), could contribute to ASDs. However, valid scientific studies have shown there is no link. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Medical Association (AMA), the CDC, and the Institute of Medicine (IOM) agree that science does not support a link between thimerosal in vaccines and autism." -American Academy of Pediatrics

"Do these people think that it will never happen to their child?"That is EXACTLY what they think. It is what I thought before it happened to my family. Hell, we didn't even know the vaccine dangers before it happened to us. People always think "it can't/won't happen to me or mine". People don't care either, that is until it happens to them. Then they want the world to care. And if more of "world" did care then maybe the situation (all situations) would be better than they are.

I mean, come on, how on earth did we survive this long if we supposedly need THIS MUCH technological intervention in our lives just to stay alive? It makes no sense. And sadly, parents who do not behave like sheem and make informed decisions because they do not just want LIVING children, they want THRIVING children, get labeled "weird" or "negligent" or "abusive" and denied medical care as punishment. Off my well-worn soapbox!

Also, America's children are some of the unhealthiest kids in the developed world. Another thing that frustrates me to no end is that it seems like Western Medicine's definition of "healthy" is "the person is breathing and has a pulse" and God forbid a parent want any more than that for their child, they just need to quit their whining. It isn't just too many vaccines too soon, it is antibiotics like candy, our C-section rate is 1 in 3.

Also, if you can believe it, there are people out there who think that 1 in 150 autistic children is PERFECTLY OKAY!!! I have actually seen parents on Internet message boards who flat out STATE that even if vaccines are contributing to the autism epidemic, that that is okay for "the greater good" because autism DOESN'T KILL YOU! NO FREAKING JOKE! Do these people think that it will never happen to their child?

Sad thing is our older daughter who is fully vaccinated was also dismissed. But good news is there are many more peds in our area that are more accommodating. I think some docs are getting the idea. After all, they are merely recommendations. The only time it really becomes mandatory is when school starts, depening on where you live (here there is only a religious exeption), but that's a separate issue for a different time...

Agreed, with everything u say. Doctors also should not have the right to dismiss parents who refuse to vaccinate. Yet when you see these "well-child" check-ups for what they are; appointments for vaccinations, then you realize that peds offices biggest financial contribution is vaccinations. It's hard to remain objective when there is that much money to lose.

Well, you have been at this much longer than I but my sense is people are in general afraid/reluctant to disagree with doctors, and especially if it entails getting into a heated discussion in front of one's child. I am glad parents are getting educated, and that needs to be done, but they should also be allowed just to say "no, I am not comfortable with that" without having to be educated on the research enough to defend their stance. Besides, the docs don't believe the research anyway.

I too will be at the Green the Vaccine Rally. And I not only try to help parents living with autism I also educate (or try to) those who don't understand it. About 10% of my group on yahoo is parents who are learning of the dangers BEFORE they vaccinate. As to your apology; excepted and I too am sorry for telling you to go to hell. And I do understand where you are coming from. W/all the media attention this issue has been getting it's a wonder why anyone would allow their kids to be vaxed.

I admit those comments were a bit overhyped, and I am sorry. The difference ibetween us though is you focus your efforts on helping parents like you who have already suffered, while mine are directed at warning new parents to trust their instincts not their doctors. If my promoting such a positin offends you, I'm sorry. This isn't about YOU. This is about preventing others from going through the same hell you mention. As for me, I will be at the Green the Vaccine Rally in DC in June.

You certainly don't act like you are part of ANY choir let alone mine. Especially with comments like: "Are these parents on drugs?? Nine immunizations at once??!!! That's practically child abuse.". Disagreeing on points in an issue is one thing. To sit in judgment of someone is totally something else. Believe me every day I look in the mirror I am reminded about what "blind faith" really is and how damaging it can be. I don't need outsiders reminding me.
