Right on vmtz2001. Rappers and Atheletes. I have never heard a rapper ever for any reason whatsoever talk about the environment or sustainability or reducing dependence on foriegn oil. With rappers its mindless consumerism and evil power pathologies that come from prison culture. They $20 pimps and whores of the competitive consumer mentality. As for athletes, they're, from what I can glean, a bunch of morons playing with rubber balls.

yes they are listening!! but the fact is that they realized if we produce this car: no gas, no oil,no tune-up spark plugs or wires distributors ,expensive sensors no muffler or cat ,radiator water pump and the list goes on and on. Think of all the companies, chains, jiffy lubs, exactly you would make a lot of millioners unhappy wich have all the influence in big decisions. In a society the ones with the biggest club control the rest.

GM killed the EV1 bc it was a pos and they knew it a oversized power wheels with no ranger sure it was fast but did it really preform like we r used to there is no ev that can match the range of a gas car the ev would cost two damn much

Anyone ever thing the EV1 died because no one would be willing to pay $100k per car?The EV1 died because GM couldn't make money selling it. The same seems to have been true for Honda, Toyota and Ford. Only in 2010 is Nissan releasing a subsized EV on the market. The Tesla is a nice toy but it is just that, a toy.

They killed the electric car because it did not suit the oil industry. Now they are on a government ventilator. Same with the arms industry. It needs wars to justify itself . America needs to devote itself to peaceful purposes and climate change and alternative energy industries. GM are a disgrace they killed their own company they were supposed to be developing for the future! Get it GM, the future!

@cag66 Then why did they want to destroy the cars already on the road. Why did they conspire with the oil industry and other car manufacturers to destroy California emission laws and why did they come up with a bogus grass roots organization to bring it down. They didn't want it to take off. They didn't push it enough. I never heard about it and I live in California.

I believe its similar to the Computer Industry. Processors of a certain architecture can be run at a peak speed. But they release the speeds incrementally to increase sales. I think the auto industry wants to do the same. So its hybrid for now...then slowly to full elects

It's conceivable that this was just not a good business proposition for gm. They can just make more money selling fuel vehicles. Why should any company have to make a product which will make them lose money. That is where the government has to step in.

It is relatively easy to make your own now especially with LiFeP04 batteries. Do some research and you will find a huge amount of companies who sell conversion kits to convert fuel powered cars.

I love how folks brag about 'selling power back to the grid.' Anyone who knows how the system is set up, knows that the distro box on your house only works ONE way. The best that chick can hope for, is that she's not being CHARGED (get it?) as much for the power she uses. And when you try the solar thing anywhere other than SoCal, you might as well be flying a kite on a windless day for all the good it'll do.Hydro power creating hydrogen for fuel cells makes more sense.
