If you compare Kerala with othere states in India, ofcourse Kerala is far ahead. Especially if you go to rural villages in outside kerala you will not have electricity for even 6 hours a day. If you dont beleive, ask anybody from a rural village in Rajasthan, UP, Bihar, AP or Maharashtra. But yes it is not a developed coutnry. It has got lot of lackings if you comapre with a modern developed countries. contd...

agree with you 100%. If i do a minor littering in sigapore, i need to pay 500 SD (around 16500 Rs.) as fine. In india, even if someone extrete in front of parliament, nobody is going to question him. It is a pity state we are in

I agree that we are far far far behind compared to living standards of countries like Singapore whre I am at present. I my self feel disgusted about several things when i come to kerala during my vaccations. Also, when other states are progressing, we are growing downward. Punjab, Tamilnadu, Karnataka etc. all will overtake kerala in a few years in all fields. We are still in a fools paradise and trying to make our living through hartals and strikes.

I agree with you. Kerala lack a lot of things, industries, employment opportunities, good cities, good roads, good educational institutions, a professional culture and lifestyle etc. etc. there are lot more to point out. I am staying away from kerala too. I have been to more than 12 states in India and around 10 developed countires outside india. I know the ground realities. I was just answering to a lunatic insane guy through my other comments. (i realised he is insane only later)

Hii, Pradeep. If Kerala is such a great place to live, why more than three million malayalees are living and working overseas. Think about it. I saw your statistics, looks pretty in paper, but reality is different. One more thing please, when you compare Kerala don't do it with other Indian states, then it makes us looks good but do not solve our problems though, o.k. Nothing wrong in patronizing Kerala, but be practical too.

Shyam, I live in U.S. People here are not smarter than people in Kerala, but the difference is the political system in place. Here people follow the laws, like they get fined or prison for simple things as littering public places, or doing other dumb things. Implementation is our biggest challenge. We have to update our laws to dealt with 21st century problems, and we have to enforce it. My point is how can all these be done if we kept elect all these dumbass politicians.

Hii, Shyam. I honestly appreciate your patriotism. I was not comparing Kerala with the rest of the India. Infact, I was making the case that inspite of our education and cultural heritage, we malayalees do not act up to our real potential. Just look at the people we elect to represent us in Trivandrum. Look how corrupted these guys are. If we kept saying that we are great without acknowledging the facts, we will remain as an educated under developed state in terms of economic development. PEACE

Vinod -I do not think that would be in the best interest of the state..Even though you are right in a way that no one would want a big part of Kerala's greenery to be destroyed for big chemical factory or IT park. But if the state has to be developed it either has to be supported well by Centre or get revenue of itself.

Hey dilee, i was also born and brought up in cochin and i am proud of it..I have no idea what you meant by people have no common sense.. I have been to various parts of india and lived in many other states too..I still think keralites are much more polite, sociable and not blinded by religion or caste or anything like that.. Can you please explain what do you meant by no common-sense??

Other than cities, have you been to rural villages of tamil Nadu? Please have a look at the villages just on the outskirts of Bangalore, or travel from bardwan to Krishna Nagar (in WB) and look both sides of the roads. Then compare with any remote village in kerala. You will understand the difference. If our trains are bad, it is the central government to blame, not keralites. If kerala is a lunatic asylum, other states are den of those who cannot even get asylum in a lunatic asylum

You check ur records. see publications about Human development indices published by both central government and UN. have you been to ahmedabad? have you been to New Delhi Railway Station? Have you been to Madhura (UP)? Have you been to Agra? have you been to Kolkotta? you see those cities and then compare with kerala cities. Yes, we lack wide roads, but other than that, our cities are better than those.Contd.....

Mallus are poor even below the national standards. It is way behind development when compared to other cities and states. People die falling into pot holes. One can see the pitiable condition of bus and railway stations. They -like you- abuse the neighboring state people by calling them pandis but the hilarious truth is, the same mallus travel in rail coaches spitted, excreted and used by neighboring states. So who are the real pandis?! Kerala is a lunatic asylum. Amen to that Shri Vivekananda

Yes I know that if one is perfect, they would not be born on this realm of birth, swine flu and death. I am also a materially contaminated being. But these mallus like you claim to be 100% literate, socially developed etc but in their actions they exhibit their third rated demoniac qualities. In other words they are fucking hypocrites. Raping and molesting women, ogling at (female) tourists etc.
