Hi really nice what you are doing. Remember there are three branches Otake, Sugino and Sugawara. They all teach the moves differently. So ill just give you a general tip. Keep your spine straight and jump/raise with your legs without crouching.Ceep it up

hello friend, I respect you very much for your passion and your honesty, TSKSR dojos are very hard to find, it`s a shame you cant have propper instruction. you show more martial spirit than a lot of youtube "masters".I was looking for a katori sensei for 10 years, one day, he showed up, I hope the same thing happens to you = )keep up the good work

Technically in 3rd battojutsu katori kata you don't go forward crossing your legs,it's stepping aside so to avoid attack from behind.

you realy want to learn ne? first the kata after 3'50 are not katori. in the sitting kata; in the final stroke youre weight should be on youre back leg, not the front. look at 1;42. you should also end with youre legs like that. when you stab, in happo ken, dont raise youre arm. keep it level with the floor.

You have certainly copied the kata quite nicely. And that is impressive. Still, there are little things in kata that don't meet the eye and ultimately you are doing lots of things wrong. If you continue training on your own, you just keep repeating the same wrong things over and over again until it will be very difficult to correct them the day you find a Katori/iaido teacher (hope that day comes). Therefore, I discourage people to study "dead arts" such as swordsmanship on their own.

Certainly not to evaluate your technique (there are enough experts on-line as it is) generally a bent wrist in the martial arts is considered poor technique as it creates a weak link./loss of power etc.and the phrase my 2c refers to an analogy to the poker ante (two bits) and gains your entry into the conversation.

Im am not eperienced in the foot work your style but the angle of your wrist seems to be the most obvious area of concern. my 2c

For being self-taught, this shows significant dedication and discipline. So good job. One thought: on the seated forms at the beginning, whenever you put your left hand on the back of the blade, be careful not to extend your left arm too far. For safety's sake, bring your hand in closer to the mid-point of the blade so you don't end up poking your palm by accident. Otherwise, I probably shouldn't comment. Good luck and I encourage you to look into Sugawara Sensei's school of TSKSR.

If you do not have a teacher and you taught yourself all this, I salute you. I can tell you are trying your best. I hope some day you do find a teacher! A teacher would enjoy having a student like you!
