My dad's favorite piece of music. And steel strings are great, but not for playing classical guitar with. Nylon strings are so much more fluid and helps dexterity big time.

Mr. Williams is a virtuoso, and a great music composer.Check his Flamenco for guitar or his music from the "War Star" movie.Proud of him.

Also keep in mind it is really hard to pull a strong-brilliant sound out of steel guitars when using just your fingers. Classical guitar uses open hand and not pick because it is usually written in polyphonic textures. Hence steel strings are't used on such compositions.

Pretty much like most modified instruments. To have a wider range color and timbric options when it comes to composing. Steel Guitars are mostly used on Rock&roll, Just listen to most rock ballads and you'll find out those are acoustic steel strings.

Why were steel-stringed guitars made then? What was its purpose or advantage? I know it makes the sound louder.

This music reminds me of a beautiful señorita from madrid whom I met I was young man. As you listen to this sweet melody, simply close your eyes and her face will appear to you.
