This is my story, well I would be Paul..:). When I was 20 my Dad was in a motorcycle accident and he was in a coma for about the same time.. Going through all the stages were tough. listening to him tell me about his son that he loved and missed, because he didn't recognize me for the first 6 months, was really hard. Now we are 3 years into this new journey and it's still 2 steps forward, 1 step back. We are forever great full we got this second chance with Dad. Thank you so much!!Sean Lail

mother of sTBI survivor. This is such a familiar story. it is a strange thing but it is good to see joe sad about his past. early on when jacob was coming out of his coma he cried, but now he seems content. he was a firefighter and hard worker at anything he tried. he is still a hard worker in therapy. we are out doing the old things as before also. biking, riding rivers, camping, and thanful for each day.

I have a million questions. My wife is very similar. Was there ever a point where recovery goes backwards steadily for a long while? Things were going forward for about 6 months. Violent outbursts, rage and wanting to stay in bed at the same time. Any suggestions? Thanks And good luck. Joe looks wonderful on this film. Angela, my wife, was about the same , but she has regressed quite a bit.God Bless

it seems like he lost the bad side of human brain... and he is like an angel in earth.. just look at his face at 8:42 he is so calm so virtuous at all, like he was never like the most of us are...when I look at his face I am feeling such a bastard and I always say to myself I'll be a better man tommorow...

Ok first off, this was a fantastic presentation, and absolutely inspiring. But at 11:15 when he was listening to MetallicA he truly became my hero haha! This guy is so badass.

What has happened to Joe is a big shock and adjustment for all concerned, but dispite this "tragedy" he is a very lucky guy because he has a wife and family that love him and stuck by him. It is only in these tragic life events that we really know who truly loves us. What has happened has bought the opportunity for his loved ones to show Joe more love. His heart will never forget the love. Maybe if this didn't happen he would have never epxerieneced this. The whole family is an inspiration!
