Oh no! Don't misunderstand. I agree that Karen Carpentar had an awesome voice. I just found the comment made amusing b/c we were talking about rock music, and Karen most certainly wasn't a rocker. She did have a beautiful voice tho. No argument about that.

karen Carpenter was probably the best singer of that era...She had the purest voice of anyone in the biz...you might not have liked the music but you couldn't deny her incredible talent

18-25 year olds have crap to listen to today and I ain't saying that cuz I grew up listening to the 70s and 80s great rock. There is some great rock today, but its about every 5th song you here.

lol Karen Carpentar! I like that one! But I know what you mean. There is very little talent these days and as long as people keep buying what passing for music these days, then I don't suppose it's going to change any time soon. Sad to say for today's young listeners!

I know! They want to say the EXACT way, where, when and how about all of it!! What kills me is that there are bands that can and do produce some songs with lyrics that aren't real detailed when it comes to other things, and people still understand what they are trying to say. But not when it has to do with sex! OH NO! THAT has to be DETAILED and TO THE POINT!! How crazy is that? I agree it takes way more talent to do things in a way that isn't so obvious than to string a line of curse words out!

Though they may have officially broken up by the end of that year, their music was still marketed and purchased by loyal fans as if they were still together. My reference to the mid 70's was to allow for that fact. I CLEARLY stated their PRIME was over by the 70's, did I not? Hello??
