@Craigipedia and how is jumping out of 3 feet of water not useful? that requires amazing explosiveness. the water slows you down like crazy. and did you know that many athletes actually train in pools because it is extremely helpful

@phatneazy just type in "jump out of pool" and you'll see TONS of people doing it... one guy even does it backwards

@phatneazy Really.... all of them? Every athlete was jumping out of a pool onto a concrete deck... opening themselves up to tripping and breaking something? Really? I was unaware, thanks for the heads up.

@phatneazy after making those points... will you concede that selecting him in the later rounds is a better position for a project like him? That was my point. A 66inch vert is useful on the field, jumping out of 3 feet of water isnt. That was my point, I even said "it isn't that impressive for an athlete of his caliber". LeBron James is a specimen or specimens, Gilbert is a needle in a haystack

@Craigipedia when you see another 290lb guy do this then i would say you shouldnt be impressed. but the fact is that there probly arent many out there that can do it. after this video went up every athlete was trying this

@Craigipedia ya and idonije has a lot of experience and should be playing there. theres a lot more to the position than just explosiveness. his jump out of a pool was extremely impressive at his size. him running a 4.8 is freaklike. he still needs to get bigger before he plays.

@phatneazy he is an athletic freak, yeah, sure, fine, we all know that... but the act of jumping out of a pool isn't that impressive, because they are ALL athletic freaks. it means nothing in terms of football, and the only thing that does (playing time) hasn't shown up yet. He might be a HOFer one day, but he isn't now. A 1st rounder has to be able to step in RIGHT NOW, and he can't do it... that is my secondary point.

@phatneazy do you go to San Jose State or something? In terms of pure economics every player ahead of Gilbert, and several behind have played a lot more at their positions than he did. And the fact that Idonjie is beating him cannot be overlooked... Idonjie is BEATING HIM OUT, ALL YEAR... a first rounder should come in a WIN his position. I'm not trying to be combative, but there is logic, and then ten steps below it there is your argument of 1st round grade.

please everyone knows he was a steal at 3rd round. and the only reason he isnt playing is cause they just resigned idonije for 7 mil in may. at almost 290 lbs this is more impressive adrian wilsons. especially when adrian wilson didnt get that high. he just brought his knees up to his chin

@phatneazy because he can jump out of a pool!? How many snaps has he played this year? I like the kid, he's a good guy and a solid player. But he played against weak competition at SJSU and still never cracked double digit sacks. He was in no way a 1st rounder. He went precisely where he belonged, if not a bit high - seeing as he hasn't played a down. The Colts have a 6th round end in the Pro Bowl, and a mid-first end with a HOF caliber career. Where is Gilbert?

@Craigipedia o that jump when he get a sprinting start and threw his legs over it. and how much does he weigh? this guy was probly one of the most underrated d ends in college football and should of went 1st rnd instead of 3rd.

@phatneazy I'm not stupid... the water provides him a lot of assistance when trusting forward. I'm not saying it isn't amazing, but I feel like lots of NFL linemen should be able to accomplish it with practice... that's all. It is not as impressive as Adrian Wilson's 66-inch jump
