Actually no. It's based in the USA, but the founder and CEO is Shai Aggasi, an israeli guy, so obviously Israel playes a good role in this.

I'm pretty sure you can charge the batteries at home. And I don't see why off-brand companies wouldn't manufacture cheaper batteries, the way they do with car parts. Battery swapping is just an added convenience for electric car owners. This company is putting a lot on the line to provide it. If they succeed, they've earned it.

you do not have to use their infrastructure, there are going to be other suppliers. so you can pick and choose who you want to use. They only want to be the first not the only. The important thing is that this is acutaly going to happen in the next 10 years and not 50. hybrids are good but they still use petrol. oh btw how is he going to raise the prices if he is bound by contract to lower them? and even if he does, all you need to do is change your provider.

This is another idea planned by a guy who wants to CORNER the market for (EV) power. This is just like the oil companies taking over the trolleys in California decades ago to sell more OIL. This is such a BullCrap Idea I can't believe people are buying into this. EV's allow you to charge on your own, this does not allow that. You are at the MERCY of Better Place, when they raise the rates, you are SCREWED! Wake Up World! It Ain't A Better Place

The cell phone industry developed the batteries that make electric cars possible. Now we see the same marketing plan being used to sell the product. Thing is, it all works!
