The connection is of tradition and culture. Nobody said anything about bloodline roots. The sephardic jews migtht actually have genetic remnants of the ancient jews though.

yes, and we all are related to the apes, right? I agree, there are people that make that argument tempting to believe. But Adam was no ape! Blessings!

Now, there's a good idea---you know where I can get 'right of return' for a goy. The Bible says that we goyim will grab their persons (I forget which part) and beg to go with them back to the land. Count me with God's people---AmYisraelHai b'eretz Yes, I think that is a wonderful idea---mover' there!!

Unfortunately many jews today tend to think they are pure descendants of Abraham, Isaac, Moses of the Bible. Most learned scholars know that is not the case. As a nation, most modern day jews, if anything, would be descendants of converts and/or descendants of heavily MIXED RACES.

The European Jews have a significant Eastern Mediterranean element which manifests itself in a close relationship with Kurdish, Armenian, Lebanese, and Syrian peoples. Tthe Y-DNA haplogroups J and E (Middle East), are so common among Jews. Tthere are no traces of European and Khazar ancestry among Jews. The Jewish Y-DNA comes from the Middle East. The studies that take into account mtDNA show that many Jewish populations are not related to neighboring non-Jews maternally.

In 70 AD the Romans eliminated the jews as a nation. the very few jews who survived blended into neighboring towns and became a mixed race. In the year 740 AD the Khazars (who lived in the Middle Ages) converted to judaism. The Khazars were a pagan tribe. Their king by the name of Bulan converted to judaism in 740 AD and basically the rest of the people followed. Read Arthur Koestler's book called the 13th Tribe.

I went to Israel in June 2008. There is no better trip that I have ever taken in my life and I don't even get excited about going anywhere else. Israel is the bomb! The best! I studied Hebrew before I went with Hebrew 4 Christians, a free site and it has sound. It helped me so very much. I went to the site blog and the upcoming Jewish Holidays and Shabbats are explained so well. You can learn at your own pace-as simple as the alphabet-or go through the Torah, Psalms and much more. Shalom!
