it says many, many times in the Bible itself that Jesus is not God. whether or not a historian says it is irrelevant. the majority of people say that Jesus claimed to be God after reading the line "he who hath seen me hath seen the Father." but that would be an assumption. i don't really know what you mean about Islam.

Its just really confusing though, because if an outside source from the new testament supports the new testament... then what about that part in Islam?

that's very nice and i appreciate it, but tell me why exactly your friend not being dead means that Jesus, complete with physical body, is sitting up in a physical heaven somewhere. even if it wasn't a coincidence, i simply take that to mean that God is listening, not that the physical Jesus is still alive, because that's impossible, he was a human, divine or not, and humans do not live to 2000, even in the bible. his spirit remains, but Jesus is dead.
