I have been trying to understand what is to be conservative. What one is trying to conserve, or preserve, or to keep? The status quo? Your position, my position? So, does it mean we should not change? I reject any label, nevertheless I may have preferences. Sticking labels seems to be pretty stupid, because the world changes one like it or not. Labels divide, we are different, we are opponents, therefore we must fight. How can one, or the country or the world, reach peace by dividing?

That's deceptive. The only way to peacefully free a slave was to purchase his freedom, thus legally making the liberators their new "masters". The relationships did not play out that way.
