Well said. Whenever someone asks me "Hey, do you think you could beat me in a fight?", my response is "I don't know if I could beat you in a fight, and I would prefer not to find out."

That there is a sportsman. Not only is he a formidable grappler, but also an incredibly patient and even tempered gentleman.

He is, above all, a gentleman. As I understand it, that is the number one rule for all martial artists. It is one rule I've done my best to live by, but not always succeeded on account of the fact that I'm too competitive and - sometimes - too impulsive. But I believe no martial artist is a real martial artist if he doesn't know how to keep his cool and "his guns holstered" until there is no other choice...

@angelmanfredywhich is why i said a REAL practitioner. The individuals repping the Israeli special forces and army. They train to take out multiple opponents as fast as possible. I have seen vids but none really on youtube. They aren't training to compete, its all about take their opponent out using any means possible. Case in point, use a rock, weapon, w.e they can get their hands on. But even unarmed, a Krav Maga expert would never take too long in taking out an opponent

and i wasnt talking about how the the GRACIES were i was saying how good the gracie jiu jitsu is... its not the family that is so good, it is the art that they develpoed!!!and its no secret that some of the gracie members are excellent jiu jitsu players

@mateah BTW in a real fight people stab or shoot you, too...so the best art to learn is the art of avoiding trouble. No joke.

@mateah look up "a REAL Street Fighter." the guy uses boxing footwork and jab/ cross (oever and over). No "jiu-jitsu guy only" would have the same chance to win. Also, the Gracie's are losing their power, man. They are history in mma now that everyone knows their tricks (and they can't strike for shit). They need to evolve their game...they brought bjj to the world but the world is going to best them at their own game. That being said, learning a good grappling art is a must.

@getchance808 show us a vid of a krav maga or sambo guy taking on multiple people, bro. The intention is there (to fight multiple assailants) but aside from weapons or amazing footwork and fast hands you will get mauled by multiple attackers.

to the individual that claims "NO martial art style is effective against multiple opponents IN A REAL FIGHT"...you need to do better research buddy...take a look at a real practitioner of Krav Maga or Combat Sambo...Those were developed and used effectively for not only multiple opponents, but multiple opponents armed with weapons...Nice try at putting down other martial arts... Big ups to those who stuck by their art

eldapeeze shut your mouth your obiosly a crappy fighter and stop talking trash about wrestling. Theres good in every combative art. None is greater that the rest. In order to become a great fighter you must master different forms of fighting.

Your full of shit. That's what Ju Jitsu is for. To submit your opponent and survive against bigger guys, being out grappled means nothing. Wrestling is really ineffective if the wrestler doesnt know submissions and is fighting a ground fighter. Dont act like Wrestling is the shit, because wresling is just Shit.

The BJJ got clearly out grappled!!! The only problem was the wrestler doesn't know submission. BJJ claimed eye-gouging just to get out of bad positions. Embarrassing for BJJ!!!

he put his chin in his eye...the chin is a great weapon to make the man on bottom as uncomfortable as possible...being a wrestler i have made countless opponents scream by using my chin...maybe not exactly as in this situation, but it works.
