The Catholic Church arranged the whole thing. Grace Kelly's father had to shell out a million dollars as a marriage dowry! Rather barbaric in today's climate!

Nice footage. I think in the end she may have had regrets but she loved her children and made the best of something that looked like a fairy tale in the beginning. He never recovered after her death and I think so did Stephanie. Grace left a legacy .

And I think her children saved her in a way. One question: Where did you get all this footage? There is some I have never seen before.

This was absolutely fantastic,She was a very unique and impossibly beautiful woman. To contribute to all the comments here, I think her life would have turned out different, if she wouldn´t have had so eager parents who desperately wanted her to become something great, which would also have been good for the reputation of the family. A lot of this smiling towards the public and everything was pretending. I think her life as a Princess wasn´t such a fairy tale after all.

No matter how people speculate, I think in the end it was fairly obvious that Prince Rainier really did love Grace. Just the way he grieved over her loss was saying a lot especially when compared to that of Prince Charles' when he lost Diana.

Try checking Princess Alexandra also; the one who subsequently became Queen Alexandra, the consort of King Edward VII.

I think she was happy .There are so many photos of grace smiling lovingly at the prince , even in later years before she died, you can't fake that, I think she loved life, children and her marraige. She was the sort of person who cared andappreciated people .

well i don't think it was a business arrangement but I also don't think Grace would have married him if he wasn't a Catholic.

She was a beautiful, classy lady and even with all that wealth, I don't think she found true happiness. She left us much too soon. Her son seems okay but the two daughters seem very unhappy.

I understand the Catholic Church and some influence on grace and her family for marrying this man. This was a business arrangement

The day she died, a part of Monaco died. I think Prince Rainier made a wise decision not to remarry, as the Monaco would never have accepted a 2nd wife. She'd be forever compared to Grace. With Rainier's passing, it was the end of an era. So now with Albert at the helm, I think happiness can be restored to Monaco if her marries. The country has already had enough of a bachelor king on the throne.

there seems to be some confusion as to whether Grace was on the same road she crashed on as to whether it was the same one in her movie

It's normal to mythologize celebrities once they've died. Grace Kelly sacrificed, reluctantly, her lifelong love--acting--for ethereal love. The royal marriage was a romantic and political move. We'll never know what she and Rainier expressed in their many correspondences prior to their engagement. But we're fooling ourselves if we say Grace wasn't aware of the challenges ahead. A courageous actor and woman, Grace wed and gave birth to legitimate heirs to save Monaco from being ruled by France.
