As the Burj Dubai is not completed yet, it is not considered a building, therefore the Taipei 101 is still the tallest building in the world. When the Burj Dubai is completed though, that will be the tallest building.

The CN tower was the tallest FREE standing structure in the world. It is NOT a building, it is a tower. I believe the tallest structure in the world is a radio tower in russia but is supported by cables. note to 'tesroz" 5,280 feet is a mile numbnuts.
