Nope. It would make it a lot more easy yes. But there are also those who came to the FBI from Law Enforcement and worked their way up to HRT without being prior military/special operations.

GSG-9 is a Law Enforcement unit, so is HRT. Some Polish LE tactical units did time with HRT also.

yeah, they have to be an investigative agent for two years, and before that they must have at least three years of military experience, such as SWAT, Army, Air Force TACP and others, or Navy SEALS and others. After all that, they can APPLY to be on HRT

Yeah they would. Read Cold Zero by Christopher Whitcomb. He was a HBI sniper and they would train with the Marines in Quantico.

I've discovered the great importance of understanding its not about competing and trying to think you are better than somebody else. true pros understand its nver about trying to compete or show off.
