this is one of his BEST shows...i think he was in quite a situation..he wanted a certain respect...but he never accomplished it because of his LUST for FLASH in the U.S. market...the quality was NOT there..and so he became popular with STARS...but he would never be on par with YSL ...YSL was one of the GREATEST ARTISTS of the 20th century..GIANNI was...a SHOWMAN..an ENTERTAINER...

For me, I saw a decline in the design around spring '97. I went to his retrospective at the Met, and, you could see that, by that time, he may have run out of inspiration, as the clothes lacked the usual pop. I wore a lot of it BITD, and, my only problem w/ it, in retrospect, was that it wasn't terribly well-made & the fabrics weren't what they could have been. DV has raised the bar on that front, I must say. If GV had the same construction quality of YSL, he'd have been more even more respected

i admired him..as far as you can tell he really had a lot of RESPECT for his MODELS...he really promoted them...i thought his work was a bit too LOUD for my tastes...smile ah but to be in SOUTH BEACH MIAMI lying on one of his BEACH TOWELS...that was CHIC..i also enjoyed his ads..some of them were great works of ART...as for his sister..she does not have the ABILITY OR INTEREST to REALLY keep the house of VERSACE SIZZLING the way her brother did...sad ...but true....R.I.P. GIANNI...

gianni... what a legend. the Versace house has not been the same. Not so much in a bad way, its just different. Versace is elegant and will always be. Versace in the 1990's- nothing compares to it!

Fashion has never been the same since. Never will be again. All has left with the greatest one we have ever known.

Oh, I miss Gianni Versace. It's not that Donatella isn't doing well enough, but he had a major influence on the fashion industry as a whole that no one else seems to have these days.
