dsegarreuth,Get a life you moronic imbecile. When we move these loads, it is well posted in advance the route they will take and the escort vehicles do the best they can to keep traffic flowing and minimize any delays by the traveling public. We don't ruin the land or do any damage to roadways or anything else. We move stuff likes this for a living and are PROFESSIONAL in how we do our jobs.So relax and enjoy the ride.

There are no refineries in Fort McMurray. They are called upgraders. They upgrade bitumen to crude oil which is then refined at refineries

Please don't blame me for what my stupid corporate government does. The people don't really choose their leaders here, although some people still believe they do.

Hmm coming from an american Why dont you start riding a bike Because its the USA that is the reason we are harvesting the oil sands. 2/3 of the oil in canada gets shipped to the USA . So in the end it is mainly the Usa's fault , then your government has the nerve to say we are the problem

If you type Scammell Contractor in you will see a British truck that is rated @ 240 tons solo. They have been known to move near 1000 tons by themselves. Power comes from a 275BHP Cummins driving through a semi automatic gearbox. They are one hell of a truck... Often seen working in multiples mainly for extra braking power and to make the job easier.

All that for "dirty oil", eh? Too bad. I wonder if Alberta will end up like West Virginia.

I wouldn't say. The size of the highway doesn't affect the size and weight of the load. The driver has to go that slow or he'll lose control.

I remember that load, they had it come through our city overnight so it wouldn't cause traffic problems.
