hahahah yeah it looks like he ran out of techniques to use. however i think aikido being an awesome form of martial arts it isn't as viable in a martial art sport competitive wise. these guys aren't really attacking him if it were a competition because i know they wouldn't be standing there like road cones

I love how the whole time he plays it all cool and defensive, then face palms the guy at 0:47. Hilarious.

Aikido has worked for me on the street twice defending myself and my girl. I've train at four schools in 7 years and none focus on "choreagraphy". Only pure self defense. Participate in a class and see if dancing is suppose to involve pain

For someone talking about Aikido, telling me to go kill myself and that am trash, you know and have learned nothing about the philosophy of Aikido either. Look in the mirror. Your rudeness denotes the mark of the amateur.

Too bad, often you will never use martial arts in your life. Well, as long as you don't live in a third world country or are an idiot that trys to pick fights with everyone they see. If so, then your trash, go kill yourself and stop wasting your teachers time. Aikido is good.

Aikido teachers, STOP teaching false confidence to ppl. You will be doing them a favour if after every class you tell them to remember Aikido is an internal martial art meant for self growth NOT A SYSTEM OF COMBAT OR ACTUAL SELF DEFENSE. Thank you very much for saving people from the onslaught of reality. : )

Not only devastating, life threatening results!Aikido only works with the person who is willing to fool arround with you. And thats because thats all they do, fool arround in the dojo. No realtiy simulations or sparring with actuall contact and high stress factors. Completely useless.

Hello.I would say aikido would be effective in certain situations, but relying completely on it might bring very devastating results. I myself see judo as a very good option, and if you would have to choose one I would definately recommend judo.Im not too familiar with Australian police training, but in most countries the training L.E.O (Law Enforcement Officer)s receive is very good and with that you should be good to go.

Would Aikido be effective for a police officer to take down an offender who is assaulting a officer or even in an arrest where the offender is resisting?.i would like to know because i do wanna join the police force, im not a big guy so would aikido help me in my line of duty? if not do you have any recomendations to another form of martial arts which would help?cheers

Typical russian-no brain and thinks(guess he can a little) that being a fat 2 meter tall guy with Bud Spencer punching style is the best martial art...

Its fucking dance. I hate this fake fight. I was study there. You pay money for horeographi. :))) No any sparrings, any fullcontact, the first dan, second dan etc, only dances... T he master of Box or Greece-Rome fight kill all masters aikido with 101 dan ;) by left hands and with 1-2 punch.

Hmm , usual scepticism from people. My background is boxing and taekwondo. I am 6 foot 2 . My Aiki teacher is 70 and weighs 130 pounds. He can do some great stuff and I am sure if he applied a lock it would be badass. I like Aiki , but I think some cross training in blocking punches is very useful as it is a tall order to stop a flurry of well executed punches.

Sorry.. 70's you mustve at least mistaken their ageSeems a bit exaggeratedWell in weightI mean they literally can be twice your size Either ways, the more they weigh the more difficult especially when they can easily read your move after a while and force the oppositionIm not too sure of lbs but where i am i use kg

To sukarestu,I am 6"1, weighed 220lbs. I attended an aikido seminar a few years back. I have encountered two petite old ladies (Mary Heiny and Rosa sensei, can't remember their exact nbames) in their 70s that can throw me like a pancake.

yes of course, the purpose of uke (attacker) is not killin him, just offering tori (defencer) his help to let him develop the tecnique... they are just learning and improving their skills... why don't you try aikido? Maybe you would understand since it's quite hard to explain
