Mondale was right in his criticism of Reagan's bellicose cold-war foreign policy and his "trickle-down" economic policies which produced such a huge deficit. But Reagan's feel-good "sunny" disposition & "Morning in America" campaign won the day. To Reagan's credit he did change policy & negotiate w/Gorbachev to help reduce the nuclear threat.
