Great striking comment! Especially the last sentence. I totally agree with you! It's so frightning to realize that people can actually decide these kind of horrible things for you against your will. It makes us so vulnerable in this world of ignorant people.

It's actually been allowed in Texas for people under age 16 now. I looked at some of your videos. You are a very good artist. If you are comfortable doing so, I would love to see a video you made talking about your ECT experience.

I had ECT from the age of 5 to 16 and I am now 21. I was diagnosed with severe depression and anger at the age of 5. Can you imagine being 5 and being tied down? I hurt afterwards and I actually broke my wrist. Even with all the medication. ECT is horrible.

I don't think this is pro-Scientology or anti-Scientology. Regardless of that fact, it's obvious this woman was abused by both her husband and this asshat doctor. I hope she sued and had his licence revoked.

I haave 4 children. I was profoundly depressed after the birth of each baby. I was in the mental hospital after the birth of the last three. I had a series of 5 ECT after the birth of the 4th baby. This was in the very early 60's. After the treatments, either I was manic or just elated, but soon after I crashed. I don't have now, nor have I ever had, complete memories of my children when they were young.

She basically is trying to convince the speaker she doesn't need ECT...Which is probably true, but she repeatedly claims that she was not depressed at the time, which is hard to verify. However, obviously, ECT is a last resort thing, it just struck (sorry...) she kind of says "I don't need ECT because I was not depressed"...which doesnt make that much sense. She is right about everything else though, it's a good thing this video was made.

what are you some sort of scientologist? This is a pseudo-religion...But check it out, mentall illness does exist, how do you explain my case of OCD?? schizophrenia!? if thats not a mental illness then what is it??The story here is obviously tragic but in no way can you draw the conclusion that mental illness is not real and that psychiatry has no place in our world.

psychiatry is a pseudoscience. there is no such thing as mental illness. psychiatry causes mental problems and damages vulnerable young people.

ECT isn't the ONLY THING that needs to STOP. How about a spouse being able to FORCE treatment on the other one merely at their say so? He said she was crazy so they took HIS WORD over hers -- sickening, how can a spouse KNOW what someone's mental state is, can he "read her mind" and KNOW what was going on in her head? If he thinks the answer was YES then he's the one that should've been TREATED, not her.

I don't see how this has anything to do with ECT? The problem is obvisously that she was threated against her will. ECT works in moast cases. America is so lol, you can kill people with electricity, but wont threat people with it.
