This truck is a 2005, still fairly new. We are getting some more new sideloaders of this same type but with Mack chassis, should be soon. I actually would like to have one of those trucks as my preference has been shifting towards Mack lately. I may or may not get one of the new ones, I guess we will see.

Daaaaamn!!!!!!! Whew!!! I guess you do have your work cut out for you on this route. With so many carts, Can't they get a dumpster put somewhere near the field/park & have a RL/FLOH empty it? I do know what you mean on your video discription comment about being too tired to shoot footage! Makes it even harder thinking of your old route while working & where you'd rather be! Been there myself so many times before! Another nice video there Eric!

I find it varies with the packing, some pack just before driving off and some during driving. Though yes, when I think about it more, there would be more pressure on the forks with the can on for that extra timeframe.Personally I stick with the C-Can with the better payload, view of action and ease of loading bulk items... atleast for routes with both carts/MGBs & extra bulk waste on the side. With a standard automated route, don't mind either, but then it'd be the ASL.

The Curotto can is more good in theory, for someone who is sort of, too stingy to buy two trucks. Not trying to be Mr Negative, but these things are what I see that make the Curotto Can not as good as a real ASL.

So this is where fatigue sets in, the joints are put under more stress than in 'normal' FL operation and this weekens them, so I disagree with you, but sorry, i didn't explain what I meant earlier. So yes it is a good system. But most councils already have RL's, so that would be the more logical choice for hard waste collection. Also, if you are emptying general waste and hard waste, you won't empty as many bins, so an MSL or ASL and RL system is far better in my opinion.

Well I agree with you, that most FL's these days can pack at the same time as driving, but to be honest, I have never seen a driver ever do it, they normally pack, leave the blade in the body while they are driving, and then when they get to the next stop, the bring the blade back and empty the next bin. But I disagree with you how an FL can hold 3 tons, yes they can, but you have to understand that a Curotto can is constantly putting stress on the forks, its not like emptying a normal FL bin.

... even though SLs are smaller, FLs do get a larger payload which is generally what an operator looks at to save trips to the tip. When it comes to strain on the forks I also disagree there, considering just under 3t can be lifted, the container can be considered as a few sheets of paper on a brick. Also another advantage I'd like to add to the Curotto is the fact that you have a better view of what's happening. With speed, from my POV they're generally similar. I rest my case...

Well once again it's one of those advantage/disadvantage situations (I like these little "discussions" :D). You're right about having to usually wait to empty the can. Though a very high majority of FLs these days can drive and pack at the same time, so I disagree there. Even though you can pack anything in an MSL it can take time with bulky items when you have to continuously cycle, unlike the Curotto where it's straight in and up... there's a bit of time difference there...

Hmm, not necessarily. 1, the Curotto can fills up, and you then you have to wait to empty the can. 2, you then have to compact, and FL's normally can't pack and drive at the same time. 3, an MSL can do almost everything that a Curotto Can can, WasteCnxsideloader packs almost anything. So, an ASL can pack when its driving, its faster, smaller in length, and not putting excess strain on the forks. So the Curotto can is beaten by the ASL. Look at your fist MH vid, its way faster than the Can.

Mmmm... sounds like a Curotto would be good then, particularly if there's a lot of extra trash on the side - you'd need the extra room I guess as well.
