This just hurts.... The orchestra is so badly tuned. I can't blame them for cold tuning but then they left the instruments at stage temperature, so they detune, it's something the conductor should have noted... It's the only reason why I don't like this piece, the music is brilliant but not this way...

I agree, like the orchestra and most of all the strings aren't properly tuned... Some are under tuned, some over tuned... It's mostly the alto violins in combination with the celli and the horns add a fifth note of contrast too, it's not what you expect for such a masterpiece. Anyone who doesn't hear it is obviously tone deaf

This is IMO the single greatest musical achievement that DT has made to date. (Concerning the entire song "Six Degrees")But this piece alone really demonstrates above and beyond how Jordan is an absolute master musician.

I actually agree with you. It was a nice addition, too bad they can't tote this orchestra around with them wherever they go.

I think that anybody can find himself in this song/album, espicially in Ouverture...

i like this version, than the studio one, i really feel unnatural with all that simulated sounds that jordan create with his keyboard

well jordan does do a great job with everything, but i was never really satisfied with the way the synthesized trumpets in particular came out, i could always tell they weren't real and that somehow disturbs me a tad bit. the studio version is still awesome tho, playcount well over 100 now ;p

no, the studio version is not done with an orchestra, which means jordan was really really really busy with the recording for overture!

Yes but originally wasn't it a piece for orchestra anyway? I think it's great to hear this with the full orchestra.

it just me, or is there a wrong note from the woodwinds at 3:55?

I'll grant you the orchestra does great things for the song, but I wouldn't go so far as to assert their instruments are any more "real" than DT's.

there's nothing with this version... dt's version is better because they made this piece not the orchestra. this song is wonderful... i hate to be emotional but everytime i listen to this always brings tears to my eyes...
