What I remember best is his awful description of the brutalization he received as a naval conscript enlistee. The same savagery was dished out to the Imperial Army as designed by General Araki to turn Japanese kids into ravening savages. The results of which are obvious.

My uncle gave me a copy of "Samurai" back in 1966. As a kid growing up in Cairns Far North Queensland with the relics of war still to be found , the americans left a lot of stuff, landing barges ,crashed aircobras ,liberators & ordinance in the swamps and jungle.I found that book enthralling and it changed my view of our old enemy. What an aviator.1979 I stayed in Rabaul and stood on the airstrip Saboru Sakai flew from , erie place.

great pictures buddy, nice to see all those great aviation legends that fought during ww2, we should remember them forever, by now all of them are taking off on their last flight. we should pay tribute to their memories.Sakai, Gabreski, Bud Anderson, Chuck Yeager, Hartmann, Ghunter Rall, Sasai, and many many more.
