If Bogarde and Forwood's relationship was platonic, why live together ?WHY ?

I never knew he might be gay. Not until tonite when seeing this documentary. I always simply enjoyed his art. And isn't that after all the most important aspect of the man?

Or his gayness! In the Arena documentary his sister tells of how thrilled she was to be regularly asked to go on holiday with him even tho they were never really closeEventually she realised the only reason she was getting invited is because Bogarde - ever the self-obsessed closet queen - wanted photographers to be taking pictures of him with a woman rather than forwood his long term boyfriend

Thanks for uploading this programme, Ana. Dirk Bogarde, along with James Mason, is my favourite British actor of all time. He seems to have been a fiercely intelligent, but very kind man and was certainly a great actor who made many fascinating, unconventional films and his complex performances can be watched over and over again.

Thanks for this - interesting if very sketchy doco - doesn't mention his childhood female mentor or his very tolerant relationship with Judy Garland.

That music at the end is really very good. "We ought to sign him."Read Roger Ebert's review of "Victim" (THAT was his first great film!). It'll make you feel better.
