Yes, this looks like a very good strength exercise and I suppose it not only works for the elite athlete but at any level.Rubber bands (of different kinds) can also be used e.g. for sprinting (which is what we do a lot) and vertical jumps. In sprints, they help to accelerate, in drop-jumps they decrease the support time.As a coach, no matter what sport, you have to be knowledgeable and creative. That is exactly what those videos show.Very interesting, keep up the good work!

Finally, some useful comments. No one had ever been able to explain to me what reverse bands were for in a satisfactory way. I'm about to try that shit myself sometime soon. Good video guys keep up the good work. I gotta say that watching all of these is hella motivating

Haha to be a great college/pro athlete you want to be ridiculously strong but not look like a power lifter. Thats Defranco's goal. He wants to increase speed and explosiveness and at the same time increase strength. He's a genious cause his stuff all works

Powerlifters generally wear a shirt in bench press competitions. It helps them through the inital portion of the lift. A reverse band press mimicks the use of a shirt. As the bar is lowered to the chest the bands are carrying some of the weight. So lets say there is 475 on the bar, when the bar is on the chest the bands will support some of it so i might be 375 on the chest and gradually acclimate up to the 475. Its a way to train the lockout portion of the bench.

Love the training videos from DeFranco's camp. They've always got motivational and innovative techniques in addition to the caliber of athletes that they train.

Why don't you learn about training before you go and make dumb comments. People from all over the world are making fun of you right now and you have no idea. I suggest you take the comment down yourself, cuz I know the owner of this video is getting a huge laugh off of your stupidity.
