vdvsoldat -The Wall and the DDR would have one advantage: People like You would still sit around in that socialist paradise, waiting for computers and being unable to surf the net and unable to make posts like that.

An absolute masterpiece, among 10 best movies ever made. In the middle of the darkest moments, there is always a tiny spark of silvery light, like hope ...It is also an important movie. The germans have faced their past and can move on as a nation, unlike russians for example.

This scene just rips through your soul, I've seen a lot of movies and with it sad scenes, but after seeing this one yesterday my hands were trembling for ten minutes or so and there was nothing I could do about it, do love the movie though...

In the USA she would kill herself because money in the stock market went under, her job was lost and her husband was fighting civilians in Iraq. The FBI are sissies and would search your house and arrest you in the US for talking badly about the US government. 20 years after the Wall fell, we wish it was back up because capitalism is bullshlt. Germany now has a witch traitor prostitute of the West and a queer governing it. You should be ashamed. The DDR was the best Germany ever!

AHafanThis is the only thing about the movie that I don't like. Having her commit suicide removes any need for her to explain herself to the Stasi and to him. Otherwise, one of the best I've ever seen.

its classic tragedy - he'd hidden it already but she killed herself simply for her feeling of betrayal. This film shows how bloody cruel the Stasi were - when the Wall fell... a great day
