The anime "Devilman" didn't have cutesy characters it was actually a mature story too about Demons. I know I don't watch that much Anime but trying to find some stories that are not for kids. Most of the "bloody/violent" Anime I've seen looks like an Itchy and Scratchy episode, it was just over the top and laughable nothing genuinely frightening or disturbing.

None of this shit is SCARY or disturbing at all. Obviously I know there's fucked up Hentai out there but I don't wanna see that shit. Can anyone recommend some genuinely suspenseful/horrific Anime with awesome storyline? Something along the lines of a David Lynch or Stanley Kubrick movie. None of that cutesy character shit though
