If you click on my user name in this video you will see my channel and it has a link to an article I wrote about how to sign with your baby. There is also a link to our website and there you will find tons of info and resources on signing. There is a free online dictionary, a baby signing video store, a book store, classes etc!

@SmartHandsCA: Thanks for replaying my comment! Oh, I see. Yes, it's a great communication. I understand what you mean, I have also deaf friends and I communication with them as well as with my family. Anyway, thank you for showing that our "language" is a LIVING proof that everybody can do! =)

There's really no one reason. Is she seeing a speech therapist? Many speech therapists encourage the use of sign language with children who have delayed speech so that they can at least have a form of language to use until their speech develops.

WOW! You must be a lovely mother, serious. Alots of creed to you, but can I ask if she is deaf? I am half deaf, and it was so amazing to see a beautiful mother teaching her own daughter our "language". This really brought joy and happiness to my face! =)

I'm a little concern, my niece is almost 20 mths old, yet she doesn't speak a single word. Though, she recognizes some alphabets and words and she does respond to words. What could have hindered her speech devt?
