If we assume that humans die with the same amount of weed in their body, then the amount of THC needed to kill an avarage human is 482 mg x 70 kg = 33740 mg = 34 grams of pure THC. The amount of THC in most weeds is like 10%. So you'll have to smoke 340 grams of weed to have nice trip followed by death.

It IS possible to OD on weed. But you'll have to be extremely skilled at smoking huge amounts of weed in a short timespan. Lets do the math! (btw i'm a nerd from the university of Leiden, Holland). The LD50 on mice is 482 mg/kg. Which means that 50% of the mice die when they have 482 milligrams of THC for every kilogram in their body.
