its not a black thing ...... Powel is a level headed man of exceptional ability - let down by the Bush Administration - truth is Powel had his chance to become president in the primaries back in 99, he was the favorite to take the republican ticket and would have won both the ticket and the presidency - it sadly was his wife who made the decision for everyone - she didnt want a dead husband - so he stepped aside but supported BUSH ..... Powel made a clear and rational endorsement.

Right, so when you wanted McCain to win, that has nothing to do with race right? Or all the white people that voted for McCain, that had nothing to do with race right?Fuck you, fuck the republicans, and fuck Palin/McCain. They would have destroyed this country.

Spare me. Powell is a lifelong Republican and he spoke with great sincerity in answering this question. He genuinely thought Obama was the better candidate and it had nothing to do with his race.

Oh no, I heard him loud and clear. But a black man wanted to see another black man succeed. This had EVERYTHING to do with race.

It's too bad that Powell has no interest in being in government anymore. I believe the American government is better off with him involved. He is a truly great man. If the Republicans nominated him for 2012, it would be a realization of a dream. But that won't happen. They will nominate a dishonest partisan puppet, and one of two things will happen. They will lose and the Republican party will continue its downward spiral, or they will win and America will take on that spiral. It's terrible.

During the Iraq War I lost all confidence in Colin Powell. Public support of Obama at the election last year he redeemed himself to a significant extent! I think that needs to be acknowledged!

One of the Finest and one of the Most Honourable Patriotic American Hero Alive.Bush/Cheney took advantage of him and LIED to him with False Reports and Accusations about Iraq and WMD's leading up to his UN Presentation. Once, he found out and once everything became clear to him and the UN and the world, he exposed Bush and resigned as Secretary of State.
