This is a very nice video. It shows how open minded many women in the US/western world are to different cultures.Everyone in the video looked fabulous! You don't have to change your religion, way of life, beliefs etc just to wear a sari!! And, the more flowers in your hair, the more fashionable and auspicious it is (at least in the culture of Southern India, which has retained more of the pure Hindu/Vedic tradition compared to northern India.)

No offense, but Western women cannot carry saree as gracefully as Indian women.

I don't care what people say, I am white and I love the sari, I don't wear one out in public because I only have two and I'm afraid of them getting dirty because i am wearing one of mine to prom this year hehe. But honestly some comments here, their hair is their style, would you care for someone to make fun of your hair?

im a hare krishna devotee and we have a lot of indians that go to my temple. Although i get the odd strange look, ive had a ton of compliments about how nice the colors look on my fair skin, or how nice i wear or dance in it.. i think saris are femine but modest at the same time. they make women look beautifull and so long as you dont go too crazy with bling and flowers theres no reason why white girls shouldnt wear them

Ah. Well that wouldn't surprise me. Despite the knee-jerk distrust some Americans have of "furiners," the strength of America has always been that we have people and IDEAS from all over the world. If we adopt something from Indian culture, that's a GOOD thing and makes us better than we were before. And Indian culture has something to offer. Just ask the (British) Beatles.

If you slim almost everything looks fine... Sari is great especialy on fat women- they look slimmer and sexi if they pick up just right sari (pattern, material). They look fat in jeans all such "in" fashion. Pinguin walk doesnt depense on weight but apperiance- if slim girl can walk like cowboy or... pinguin :-))))

I also think it was Levi Strauss in America. But the cloth is originally from France, "de Nimes"

Hair color or face color can't be problem for wearing sari..just chose sari in the color matching to your color typology. Nobody can look good in all colors, but anybody can look great in sari
