I believe everyone has a right to there own opinion. I am more of a mummys girl but I belive being labeled as either of these shows that the person has no independence. This is a lovely song, but to say you are a daddys girl is saying you are reliant on your father. A father is there to lean on, not to hold you up. I agree with TeakLipstickFriend, although I do respect everyones rights and opinions.

The song says enough. It didn't need all the comments. It's like your purposely trying to sadden people. I didn't like it.

You handle that well I like how you commented. without using any type of negative words/profanity..I never heard anyone say daddys girl was incestuous/that it showed possessiveness'' but like I said beautiful!!! God Bless You!

Little girl, I have a right to my opinion. Go ahead and enjoy this song all you like. If you like it so much, then my opinion shouldn't bother you.

This song was played as the wake-up call during the STS-129 ISS mission for Randy Bresnik. His daughter, Abigail, was born on day seven while Randy was in orbit.

grow up! Didn't you mum ever tell you "Nothing nice to say then don't say it"A daddy's girl is not incestous. It's a term of love and caring! A dad looks after and protects his little girl till she grows up and find a man whom will look after and care for her hence the term give her awayGo away and keep your comments to yourself!

I'm sorry, but this song is so sickly sweet and insincere. I feel ill listening to it. And it's also creepy: the concept of "daddy's girl" is positively incestuous. And a daughter is not a father's to "give away" - she is not a possession, neither of her father or her husband. And maybe she won't change her name when she gets married?

There are a few Christian songs that really touch me. A couple is Christmas Shoes by Newsong and He's My Son (don't remember the artist).
