Lara won more games than Tendulkar, mostly by himself, more flair and a great eye. Tendulkar though has a more orthodox technique. Tendy best RH, Lara Best LH.... BUt Lara better than Tendy against Warne and McGrath

any fool can see Lara was the greater batsman, more exciting, more flair, more shots. .comparing Lara and Tendy is like comparing a very rare exotic unpredictable Ferrari to a very reliable but more common BMW . .see at least I kept it prestige out of respect. .

Lara had more flair, but Tendulkar was the better allround batsman

Lara is a plenty better player than Sachin. india may win more game when Sachin make century than Lara id with the West Indies. But did he break a test record with who made the most runs in one innings no but Lara did it twice

It's simple. Go and search 'Richie Benaud' on the youtube search bar. Click on the first video.

You are making yourself look like a 10 year old with the kind of questions you are asking. First you say that Lara has won more matches for his team than Sachin. When I prove you wrong, you say that India has lost maximum matches when Sachin has scored 100's. Once again when I prove you wrong, you start an argument on triple centuries. Once again I've proved you wrong. What's next ?

How many triple centuries has Barry Richards, Viv Richards, Graeme Pollock, Ricky Ponting, Sunny Gavaskar has ? BTW, Mahela Jayawardene has a triple century, but Viv Richards doesn't. So let's assume Jayawardene is better than King Viv, right ?

Let's talk ontopic then how about Sachin against the great bowlers of his time excluding 'Shane Warne' and same for Lara?If Sachin is so great why hasn't he got a triple century in Tests btw? even when Sehwag has one? And next time you meet him please ask in what millenium is he breakin Lara's Test & FC record for highest score ok kid.

Don't try and divert the topic. You are trying to change the topic on purpose since I pwned you to oblivion. It's you who said that India always loses when Sachin scores100's. I proved you dead wrong showing instead how W.I mostly lost when Lara scored his 100's.You talk about average ? Miandad, Gavaskar, Chappell, Border all of them averaged more than Viv Richards. Yet none of them are good enough to carry the shoes of Viv. As for Yousuf, he is the #1 undisputed FTB/Minnow basher of all time.

And do you have any idea about the state of WI cricket when Lara came in? Try google mate and Averag wise both record master and Sir Brian Charles Lara are not even on the list of top ten and Ponting has better average than Sachin and even Mohd' Yousuf. Talk about pwning

HaHa ... it's you who needs to know your bit of stats. Out of Brian Lara's 34 test centuries, 14 have come in losses (41.17%), 12 in drawn matches (35.29%), and only 8 in won matches ( 23.52%)Out of Tendulkar's 42 Test centuries, only 9 have come in lost matches (21.42%), 17 in drawn matches (40.47) and 16 in won matches (38.09%)41.17% of Lara's tons came in losses, while only 21.42% of Tendulkar's tons came in losses.PWNED !!!!!!!!

You know India has a record of losing matches whenever Sachin scores centuries? And talking about stats then lemme tell you the true quality of a batsman lies in how he plays test cricket and we all know who holds the world record for the highest score in a test match. Get your facts right and then argue so head over to cricinfo and see yourself eod.

Win matches alone ? Really ? Can you name some matches he won almost single handedly ? Why is it that Sachin averages much superior than Lara when it comes to AVERAGES IN MATCHES WON BY THEIR RESPECTIVE TEAMS ? Lara should have had a better average in matches won by his team if he was the better match winner.
