if the curren record is 750+ and you beat the by 20 mph, that puts you at 770+ ON THE GROUND, how the hell is that lame? and the salt flats in Utah should be big enuff to try this, Thrust SSC set the record in Nevada, and i think the Utah salt flat is bigger.

Actually, the previous record set by the Thrust SSC (See related videos) was a little over the speed of sound- around 750 mph- this project aims to break 1000 mph. The main problems associated with such projects are aerodynamics and materials that will operate in such extreme conditions.

Yes. It would be very difficult to control, the aerodynamics would be screwed up, the acceleration would probably knock the driver out and all the extra weight including fuel would probably lower the top speed anyway!
