Mc had the best hands in tennis. Best net man of all time. His rage in the old days were confused with cockiness. He just was so hungry to win it almost controlled him...As they say in the replacements, "Winners always want the ball."

By the way, these two players really raised the level of tennis. There were others to back then, but this two were sort of the foundation...

I never knew that BB took him under his wings. But then again, it's not strange that BB felt for JM. BB acted out in the same way early on, just like JM probably did when he first saw him.

nothing happened to tennis, didn't you catch serena's outburst, or federer's genuis plays (point before matchpoint vs djkovic), and the upset of the year, Del Potro! there's still plenty of show and good tennis

the 2009 U.S. open comes and goes and i did not even think about it one time. When i was a kid labor day always meant the U.S. Open, early July it was Wimbledon without fail. What happened to tennis? McEnroe, Borg, Conners among others were what made the show i suppose.

I think overall Borg is a better player but it's kinda like federer vs nedal. McEnroe won against Borg and really McEnroe is just like he always was pissed off at the ref and anger problems

What I love about watching Mcenroe play isn't the tantrums or his attitude. What I love is that when you watch him swing, it's like watching a teenage girl, yet he somehow makes it work to be one of the best.

McEnroe won. But actually tennis lovers won. The ultimate game from a generation. Who cares who won? It was competitive, and these great warriors came out and preformed. Doesn't matter who your hero was; we all won this time!

Borg was and will always be the best in tennis, the best attitude, the best raw skills and ability.....he is the champions champion.Nobody comes close. As for McEnroe being the bad boy of tennis, McEnroe was a wannabe Nastasi was the BAD BOY long before McEnroe was a twinkle in his daddy's eye.
