Mate........I am so envious! I am about to turn 52 so I was too young (as far as my olds were concerned) to go to Sunbury. I have been searching the net for the last 15 years or so for Thorpie gigs in my area, but I was in Defence and kept moving around. I would have loved to have seen him in a pub type of atmosphere. There is noone more than Thorpie that I would have paid big money to see. Too late now!!!!! Thanks for the memories Billy.

Billy Thorpe was remarkable and sad that the world was not able to witness him and the Aztecs in their later years.They were the best,by far, the best rock band in Aust at that time.

i saw thorpe about 8-9 yrs ago, and in a small venue for his standard, he rocked the fuck out the joint and was so fucken loud. he was brilliant and it was the best to see him rockin out

Freaking cool dude!Angus now lives about 120 miles from my place with his wife.And yes before i read the book, i had totally no insight in Australian rock music, but afterwards i find it really cool and pure compared to those US plastic sh*t.Here in EU it always was a kind of rough, (lots of leather, studs, beer and macho behaviour) i guess because of our viking heritage. Aussies are more down to earth.

Sorry Tonyp68, I was just a big fan of the music back in the day, I can't help you with the specifics. Now I used to live with ACDC in Melbourne when they first arrived there from Sydney, so I could give you a little insight there.
