Please do not confuse amateur with professional. This is amateur in every aspect: larynx is completely raised, onset and release are sloppy in several places, tension is high throughout, breathiness exists in the low of the aria for artsy-fartsy pop-effect. The reverb of the microphone is sad. This would be nearly inaudible without microphone and the real orchestra/stage. Buy records of pros, not junk. He seems like a nice guy though.

mr. potts is not even close to being good weepingearthroarings...who said training did not help maestro pavarotti?..so you're trying to imply that because the great maestro had a lot of training he had the greater advantage over paul potts...that's way too much crap you're stuffing in your skull...exactly how many operas have you seen in your lifetime?...you must be watching the wrong kind...by the way, lizards do taste good...

icare51100...i don't think any of them did...one even asked me if anyone goes to la scala like he/she knows where it's at...i won't go as far as saying paul potts is pretty good...he can sing...but i think it's such a serious blasphemy to even include his name in line with maestro pavarotti and the other greats of the bel canto style...bocelli is good but bel canto is not his forte...ciao

scarletrosemarie...i have no reason to be jealous with this man...i have no music career like you think i'm going to brag about it because i knew earlier on in my life that i don't have the talent for it...this mr. potts just thought he has it and got lucky that the people, including simon cowell, who voted for him to win doesn't have a clue how an opera singer should sound like...i do admire paul's audacity to try to pull this off though and succeed...that i can't take away from him...
