It's been years since I last watched the full movie (will have to buy the DVD -- these clips reminded me how great it is). I seem to remember a scene where Baby Jane pushes Blanche in her wheelchair down the stairs, but couldn't find it among the clips posted here, so perhaps I'm confusing that scene with another movie. Is that scene in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?"? That would give me one more reason to buy the DVD.

Agree -- while she's listening to Jane, you can see her breathing heavily as if she's struggling with anger and frustration, in other words, Joan Crawford is able to convey a lot without even saying anything. Both actresses were great in this classic movie.

Thanks sanyorker for posting these scenes -- it's been years since I saw this movie, and it still stands the test of time. Jane sure is mean and devious, but later on, when Blanche is dying, she admits that she was responsible for her own accident, but made Jane believe she did it (since Jane was too drunk to remember) -- so Blanche isn't exactly innocent either.

Bette was the Best and deserved the Oscar. Too Bad Joan campaigned against it. Bette concetrated on memorable roles not the roles that focused on Physical beauty. Which she is remembered more then Crawford for her body of work. JC is more known throught that awful book "mommie dearest".

Yes, after I read your comment I went searching for it immediately. I found it here on youtube. Man, that was classic! The way he said it was just hysterical. And to think that so few people can appreciate the reference.

Omg what's the episode called? Do you know where I can watch it?

The main reason is probably that Bette smoked. She was always constantly smoking and that's why she didn't age as gracefully.

Baby Jane's. Blanche wanted the neighbors to call the doctor so he could come over and check Jane.

So what was in the content the of the letter? Was it about Blanches own mental problems or that of Baby Jane's.

Bette did not age well, (she looked amazing in her youth, like All about Eve). Joan aged much better, but thats kind of irrelevant. Both are two of the finest actresses.
