Most people confuse "erotic" (Charlotte Rampling herself says that the film is incredibly "sexy") and pornography.i think that the distinction probably lies not so much in the 'perverse' content as in the intention or the power to corrupt. This film is certainly not the advocate of sado-masochistic practices for everyone!

nope - don't love porn. I think it's ultimately silly. I've just grown up and believe Night Porter is not pornographic but quite beautiful. Seven beauties on the other hand is just "bad".

I hated this film when i first saw it (I was young and in my teens). I thought it pornographic as I did Seven Beauties - but now i love it! I still hate Seven Beauties BTW.

The Night Porter is a beautiful movie : love and hate are intimately mingled in this film. Sometimes one can fall in love with his executioner !R.I.P. Mister BogardeRegards from France
