I remember watching this game in high school. The Niners had defeated the Giants during the regular season in one of the best regular season games i'd ever seen. One Craig fumbled the ball away, i knew the Giants would win. I have this game on VHS-no commercials.

It must suck to lose a championship game, when your team doesn't allow a single touchdown.

This is more clutch than Vinateri's Super Bowl kicks because he still had overtime to fall back on.

That game was the most clutch performance by a kicker (Bahr) in playoff history, except for the 01 playoffs by Vinateri of course. I remember Vinateri's kick in the snow against the Raiders and then the Super Bowl winner and thinking back to Bahr's performance in the 90 title game.

youre an idiot. the dolphins lb's were like 190-225 lbs. They would get crushed by today's players. 72 Dolphins = most overhyped team in sports history.

From 1968 to 1980, though, the AFC won the Super Bowl every yr except for '71 & '77

From 1980 to 2000 only 3 AFC teams won the Super Bowl, talk about domination by the NFC.1980 - Oakland Raiders, 1983 - Los Angeles Raiders1997 - Denver Broncos, 1998 - Denver Broncos2000 - Baltimore Ravens.

actually the NFC won every super bowl from 1984 to 1996... 84- 49ers, 85- bears, 86- giants, 87- redskins, 88- 49ers, 89-49ers, 90- giants, 91- redskins, 92- cowboys, 93- cowboys, 94- 49ers, 95- cowboys, 96- packers

That's not the point of what I was saying. I was listing the teams generally felt to be the best of the non-SB winning teams. I think for all their flaws, the list holds up. You just listed the reasons as to why maybe they didn't win

the 76 Steelers were a real team, the 98 Vikings were great offensively but had a very suspect defense (and it showed in 99), don't even mention the 07 patriots as one of the best teams. That team will forever have an asterisk placed next to their name for the way that they cheated an undefeated season. Brady's 50 TD passes were a fluke and Super Bowl XXXVI set the tone for later seasons. The 07 Cheaters will never be one of the best teams in my opinion. 72 Dolphins would have destroyed them.

i agree. the NFC games back then were great and very intense. unfortunately, free agency really changed that. at one point NFC teams won 3 straight super bowls. 90 giants, 91 skins & 92 & 93 cowboys.

the 49ers were a great team but a team that dominated a single decade & pulled one more out in 96. the other greats has success more than once throughout time, plus the 49ers had back to back HOF QB's. that will never happen again. i don't see them being the way they used to be for a long time. i just want to see those same fans stick with them now that the bad times seem to be more and more, and not become patriot fans or steelers fans.
